The Leader We Need Now

“Divisive politics doesn't work. As your County Executive, I will bring all sides together to take on the tough challenges, lift everyone up, and fight the real threats from Washington. I am the only elected official in this race who has never taken a dollar from developers, special interests, or PACs — because I answer to you.”

ABOUT

Evan Glass

for Montgomery County Executive

Building a Better Montgomery County for Everyone

Evan Glass grew up watching his mother work two jobs to make ends meet. That taught him the value of hard work and how to stretch a dollar. He became the first in his family to earn a college degree, graduating from American University, and chose Montgomery County as his home 26 years ago. He's been fighting for it ever since.

A Leader Who Gets Things Done

In 2018, Evan made history as the first openly gay Jewish man elected to the Montgomery County Council. Now in his second term as an At-Large councilmember, he fights for all 1.1 million residents. He knows every neighborhood, every community, every corner of Montgomery County because he represents them all.

Evan passed the ICE Out Act to protect our immigrant neighbors. He passed the Pay Equity Act so women are paid fairly. He made county buses free for every resident. He voted against raising your taxes. He demanded accountability from our school board to make sure every dollar reaches our children and our classrooms. He defended renters by closing the loopholes landlords used to hike costs. He created the Anti-Hate Task Force and secured $1.2 million to protect houses of worship. He fought back against data centers and developers threatening our environment — and earned the Sierra Club's endorsement.

He sees a problem. He fixes it.

Deep Roots in Public Service

Before joining the Council, Evan spent 12 years as a CNN journalist covering Congress and national politics. He was trained to listen to all sides and hold institutions accountable. He founded the South Silver Spring Neighborhood Association, organizing his neighbors to advocate for their growing community. He served as executive director of Gandhi Brigade Youth Media, an after-school nonprofit empowering immigrant and low-income youth. President Biden appointed him to serve on the EPA's Local Government Advisory Committee, helping shape environmental policy locally and nationally.

Evan lives in Silver Spring with his husband Jason and their two rescue beagles, Daisy and Poppy.
